As Grip Security scaled its SaaS AI security platform, cloud usage grew together with product velocity and customer demand. To keep growth efficient, the company needed greater visibility, stronger ownership, and a more optimized AWS infrastructure.

About Grip Security

Grip Security helps organizations discover, manage, and secure the AI and SaaS applications running across their environments. Operating at scale, the platform runs dynamic, data-intensive cloud-native workloads that demand both speed and infrastructure precision.

Industry: AI Security

As Grip Security scaled its SaaS AI security platform, cloud usage grew together with product velocity and customer demand. To keep growth efficient, the company needed greater visibility, stronger ownership, and a more optimized AWS infrastructure.

The Challenge

Grip Security’s rapid growth created increasing cloud cost complexity.

As usage scaled, the team had limited visibility into what was driving cloud spend across workloads, teams, features, and architectural decisions. This made it difficult to connect infrastructure behavior to business impact and delayed the team’s ability to detect and respond to cost spikes.

The Kubernetes environment also presented optimization opportunities, with underutilized resources, unchecked scaling patterns, and limited cost ownership across engineering teams.

To keep scaling efficiently, Grip Security needed a FinOps operating model that would give teams visibility, accountability, and the right mechanisms to optimize continuously.

The Solution

CloudZone partnered with Grip Security on a focused FinOps engagement that combined strategic alignment, operational visibility, and deep infrastructure optimization.

The first priority was cost transparency. CloudZone helped create real-time visibility into cloud spend, enabling engineers, product leaders, and business stakeholders to understand what they own, what it costs, and where optimization opportunities exist.

Additionally, a cost monitoring practice was set up, catching anomalies earlier, significantly reducing the amount of cost incidents experienced by Grip Security.

In parallel, CloudZone led a targeted optimization process across Grip Security’s Kubernetes environment. This included introducing advanced scaling mechanisms, improving resource utilization, and implementing automation to reduce waste without impacting performance or engineering velocity.

By combining FinOps best practices with hands-on AWS and Kubernetes expertise, CloudZone helped Grip Security move from reactive cost management to a more proactive, accountable, and scalable cloud operating model.

The Results

Grip Security now operates with a more cost-efficient and predictable cloud environment, where spend is visible, ownership is clear, and infrastructure decisions are better aligned with business growth.

The engagement delivered:

  • 43% reduction in Kubernetes infrastructure costs
  • Improved visibility into cost drivers across teams, workloads, and services
  • Faster detection and response to cost anomalies
  • Increased cost ownership across engineering teams
  • A scalable FinOps framework to support continued growth
